Cloning Failed Drives . Your original drive reports bad sectors, corrupted data blocks? . Want to clone a failing hard drive to another place? . Would like to backup your hard drive before rescuing data in it? In this article, you will see how to perform a RAW clone to backup any failed hard drive.

 

 Key Features that help you to clone/copy internal hard drive:

1. Sector-to-Sector Copy. Copy everything in your failed hard drive to another place. Even those free sectors.

2. Support disk-to-disk copy, disk imaging, burn disk to CD/DVD.Choose the one backup mode to save a raw copy of your failed hard drives.

 Prepare:

1. Connect new hard drive to your computer: If you want to clone to a new internal hard drive, you should install the hard drive to your computer firstly. Please refer to your hard drive or computer manual to find out the instructions. ( Install IDE hard drive ,   Install SATA hard drive )

If your target hard drive is a new hard drive without initialization, you do not have to initialize or partition the target drive yourself. MagicCute Data Backup will do all the things for you, including initializing the target hard drive (write disk sign), build partitions on target hard drive base on the partition layout in source hard drive.

How to perform a RAW Clone(Sector-To-Sector copy):

After clicking "Clone to another volue", "Backup to CD/DVD", "Backup to Image File" in main menu, a clone mode selection dialog will be promoted.



Click "Sector-to-Sector Mode" will tell the program to clone your source hard drive in RAW mode.

Note: If you have select "Sector-to-Sector Mode", partition layout adjustment will be disable. You can not change the partition layout in target drive.

Note

 DO NOT run a lot of programs while cloning the system drive. Running a lot of programs will slow down the clone speed remarkably.

Copy all valuable data in your target drive to a safe place. The cloning process will overwritten all the data in target drive.
